So after another sell out run of The Aftermath its on to my next project. I will be playing Leonato in Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ with Ruff Theatre Company. This will be my first time performing in a Shakespeare play. Its going to be hard work with only three weeks to go until it is on. Rehearsals being very bitty due to peoples schedules but with the very talented cast and the fab direction of our director Emma, I’m sure we will get there. The show is on in the Crescent Arts Centre on the 2nd of September, and hopefully a few nights in the QFT. The film Splash Area, in which I played a cop, will be getting its premiere at the annual Yellow Fever Film Festival on the weekend of September the 9th. You can find all the details here http://theyfiff.webs.com/. In other big news after much talk with many Actors out there about lack of Agents in Belfast I’ve decided to start up my very own Actors Agency. It will be c alled Inbetween Agency and I’ve hand picked 12 or so very talented Artists to be on my books. The website is almost ready to go live and with help from my previous agent Pamela I’m ready to become NI’s number one Acting Agency. Look out for the website this week. I will also be starting up its own facebook and twitter page and I have to say the website will be the best agency website around! So its all go but sure that’s the way you like it.

Haven’t been doing much writing lately because my internet was down at home. Well, just by way of an update, since the last blog I no longer have an agent. My agent at Media Moghul has decided to call it a day. With both women who run it being full time mothers they felt they were not able to commit to it 100 percent and I totally understand their situation and wish them all the best. I’ve have had some positive feedback from Agents in Belfast, London and Dublin, so I’m sure it wont be long before I’m back in someone’s books. The Titanic centenary has come and gone and I have to say I was glad to see the back of it as I’m sure most people are. The tours got a bit of a Titanic Hangover I think but thankfully they are picking up again and we are in for a busy summer. I also finished my last scene for the Feature Film Splash Area a few weeks back. It was a lot of fun even though it was only a small part, and I hope to work with George and his very talented team at Yellow Fever again some time in the near future. Last week saw me taking to the stage again with the talented Matt Faris in a funny two hander for Lunch Box Theatre in the Black Box. We had been cast together again and its always a pleasure to work with Matt, and under the direction of Gary Wilson, both great guys, and I hope to work with them again some time soon. Next Monday will see me audition for the Biscuit tin readings with Accidental Theatre. I also worked with them last year and am hoping to make it two years in a row. Well that’s all for now, so until next time “keep er low through Ardboe!”

In case you didn’t know it is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic on the 15th of April. Working on the Titanic tours and having a interest in the story and the men who built it, I am looking forward to the whole centenary being over and done with. It seems like every man and his dog is trying to cash in on the Titanic. Every Theatre Company I can think of is doing something and to top it all off there are MTV gigs on the slipways, the film in the dry dock and even worse the Belfast City Council are holding a family fun day on the 15th of April?????? Wait a minute is it just me or does anyone else find all this celebrating a little bit uncomfortable - over 1500 people were killed on the Titanic; it was the biggest maritime disaster in peacetime history Yes we can celebrate the men who built not just it but the two sister ships and the other seventeen ships being built at that time in Harland+Wolff and all of those skilled me n who worked down there, and that’s what we do on the tours but on the 15th of April we have to commemorate the lives lost that sad night not hold a family frigging fun day. I find it really sad that certain people are turning that day into a celebration. RANT OVER. Last night I was filming some more scenes for ‘Splash Area’ It has been a lot of fun and have one more night left, I have only a small role but I hope I have made a good impression for other films they will be doing this year. Being so busy on Titanic Tours and my Fiancee being in hospital for a few weeks I’ve had to pull out of ‘The Odd Couple’ I just dont have the time but i really hope it does well as I’m sure it will. The auditions are always ongoing and next i have a audition for a Feature Film. Keep looking on the website - I will have my show reel on very soon.

So its the Aftermath of the Aftermath. It was a great success with well over 1000 people coming over the three nights. I have to say it it has to be one of the most powerful plays I have been involved with and that was the feedback that we got from the people who came to see it. And don’t worry if you didn’t get the chance to see it, it will be back for another two weeks in the Summer. I was worried that we would not get it back to where it was last year but after two very long days of rehearsals we got there. This week its back to the Titanic tours, and Auditions. I just finished a voiceover for a Lifeline ad for the radio – it goes live on Monday so listen out for it. Filming has started for Splash Area and judging from the blog and the photos its looking good. We shoot our scenes early next month. So hopefully in the next month or so I will have a showreel and my voiceover clip on the website.

This week is shaping up to be a busy one with Ballymurphy: The Aftermath on at the weekend. It’s running for 3 nights over the weekend. We start rehearsals on Wednesday so I hope its all still there . Also this week we will be having a rehearsal for the Feature Film Splash Area. I have to say I’m really looking forward to working with Yellow Fever on this project. And when I’m not doing all this you will find me down doing Titanic tours. This week I was the featured artist in my agency – this was the 2nd time this has happened and it gets me out there and gets people knowing that I’m here and available. This week past I also got a two page write-up in my local paper the Antrim Guardian. It was great to see and good for the fans to read it haha. This month I have also been working on two short films which was a lot of fun and I will have them on the website as soon as I get them. The photos I’ve put on are of me backstage last year at the Ballymurphy play and also me on set in the short film I did last week.
